Photography has always been something of an interest to me. A few years ago, I bought a Canon Rebel XT, with the intent of using it
mainly for snapshots and collecting reference images to use for my drawing and painting. Gradually, however, I became more interested in photography
as an artform itself. What interests me about Photography the most is that it is a combination of art and science- A blend of Aesthetic and practical. Sure, you
can take a picture by merely pointing a camera and pushing the button- But to take a good picture requires far more- It requires an understanding of
light and how it behaves, as well as time and how it affects light. Add to this skills in spotting composition, color, and other elements, and it makes
for quite a challenge!
I am going to add some of my favorite photos here, categorized by type. No, I don't consider them all to be great. Some I hardly even consider to be
that good- But for some reason they 'speak' to me. Hopefully they will do the same to you. I will try to provide a description of what I was thinking, what was going on
at the time, and how I did it where possible as well.
Photography is a pretty equipment-intensive artform, and I have provided some information about the equipment that I personally use in the 'Info' area (link below).
